Olathe KS-Charlotte (Holt) Green, 71, formally of Charleston IL and Casey IL, passed away peacefully at home, with her family, on Dec 11, 2017. Charlotte was born Feb 11, 1946 in Wakeeney KS to Rev Edwin and Mary Holt. She married Stan Green July 3, 1970 in Arcola IL.
Charlotte was a faithful Christian and member of the Church of the Nazarene. She loved to read, especially her bible, and was devoted to her family. As a young woman she worked in a library and trained as a nurse. She served as a nurse in the Women's Army Corp. during the Vietnam War, and later in a local hospital. She performed volunteer service in the libraries of her children's schools. She was also deeply involved in her church, as Sunday School teacher, musician, and Missionary President. She especially enjoyed her roll as a housewife, mother, grandmother and home school teacher for her grandchildren. Later in life she carried on an extensive prayer ministry. She loved to learn, and her personal library contains books from a wide variety of genres.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Stan Green; her mother Mary Holt of Charleston IL; daughter Becky Livengood (Terry) of Big Lake AK; sons Tim Green of Olathe KS and David Green (Chrissy) of Kansas City MO; eleven grandchildren Kelsea Shoulders (Alex), James, Tina and Greg Livengood, Camden, Jayce and Selah Green, Hunter, Seth, Whitney and Ethan Green; two great grandchildren Anna and Felicity Shoulders. One sister, Mary Van Scyoc of Charleston IL, brothers Richard Holt of Charleston IL, Ed Holt of Chesterville IL, and John Holt of Seymour IN. She was preceded in death by her Father Rev Edwin Holt and sister Judy Fullerton.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in the Garret Chapel of College Church of the Nazarene in Olathe KS on Saturday December 16, 2017. Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM with the service being held immediately after at 11:00 AM.
