Charles Sweeney

Charles A. Sweeney, 77, Olathe, KS, passed away at his home on Tues., Jan. 10, 2006. Burial will be 10am on Fri. at Leavenworth National Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the American Lung Association of Kansas.

Charles was born July 6, 1928 in Bono, TX. He retired in 1970 as CW02 from the United Stated Marine Corp after 25 years. He retired again in 1988 from California Highway Department as a Commercial Vehicle Inspector after 17 years. They lived in Carlsbad, CA for 35 years before moving to Olathe in 1994. He was a member of the Oceanside Masonic Lodge.

He leaves his wife of 57 years; Julia A. Sweeney; daughter, Elizabeth Janis McFarland; son, Charles Jeffrey & wife Susan Pope Sweeney; grandchildren, Joey & husband Dan, Andrew, Austin, C.A., Adam, Orin, and Jimmy; great grandchildren, Julia, Eleanor, Audrey, and Alex; brothers, Wayne Swiney, Weldon Hill, and Kenneth Hill; sister, Joan Foster.
