Charles V. Stevens, 67, of Olathe, passed away on July 13, 2019. He was born on January 8, 1952 to Charles and Inez (Bridges) Stevens in Kansas City, MO.

Charles grew up in Springfield, MO, where he attended Glendale High School and later received his Bachelor's Degree in Geology from Southwest Missouri State University. He served in the Navy in Vietnam from 1971 to 1977. In August of 1979 he married Elizabeth Harris (also from Springfield.) His hobbies included woodworking and computer programming. Before retiring in 2016, he worked at CenturyLink in Gardner, KS and Sprint in Overland Park, KS. Prior to moving to Olathe in 2000, Charles worked at Dow Chemical and Browning Ferris Industries in Houston. Charles also had a deep love for all of his pets.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Liz Stevens; son and daughter in law, Chad and Heather Stevens; sisters Kathy Landwehr and Debbie Keese; brother, Jerrie Pope; many nephews and nieces; and his pets Ripley the dog and Charlie the cat.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard.

A private gathering for friends and family will be held for Charles, with inurnment at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
