Charles Robinson

Charles "Charlie" E. Robinson, 61 of Gardner, KS passed away on Thursday March 8, 2007 at the University of Kansas Medical Center from heart/lung complications. Viewing will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday March 15, 2007 at Indian Creek Community Church, 12480 BlackBob Rd. Olathe, KS, with funeral services to begin at 1:00 pm. Interment to follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Guests are then invited to join the family at the church for fellowship until 5:30 pm. The family suggests memorials to the Indian Creek Community Church Benevolence Fund, in memory of Charlie.

Charlie was born on November 18, 1945 in Lutherville, AR. He is survived by his wife, Donna Robinson, his four children, Tina Allen and Troy Robinson both of Gardner, Regina Zimmer of Texas, and Angela Espinosia of New Mexico, four stepchildren & their spouses: Ty Schmuhl of Gardner, Ryan Schmuhl of Spring Hill, Mauriah Schmuhl and Justin Schmuhl both of Olathe, his sister Leona Smith of Hutchinson and 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Charlie lived in Hutchinson, KS for about 20 years, and has been a resident of the Olathe area since 1993. Charlie and Donna were married February 14, 1999. Charlie was a deputy sheriff in Hutchinson for 3 years, but spent most of his life as a truck driver. He served our country in the Vietnam War, where he earned a purple heart and received a bronze star. He was also a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
