Charles N. Mochel, 74, of Overland Park, KS passed away Tue. May 18, 2010 at home. The family suggests contributions to Crossroads Hospice of Kansas City or Heart of America Carnival Glass Assoc.
Charles was born March 30, 1936 in Overton, MO to Charles and Adelia Mochel and was raised in Prairie Home, MO. After moving to Kansas City in 1955, he worked for Hallmark Cards as a pressman. He was in the Army Reserves for 6 years and was called to active duty before he married Eleanor Harris in 1968. In 1972 they began to own and operate nursing homes in Missouri for 22 years. He was the co-founder of the Heart of America Carnival Glass Assoc. and was an avid collector of antique carnival glass.
He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as a sister Lorene Albright.
He is survived by his wife Eleanor of 42 years, and their 2 sons Kevin(Kristy), and Brent(Sara). Grandchildren, John, Lauren, Dylan, and Tyler. As well as a brother Harold Mochel and a sister Ann Carroll.
