Charles Lester Huggins

Charles Lester Huggins, 84, of Olathe, KS, passed away at his home Monday, January 5, 2009. The family suggests contributions to Johnson County Chiefs and Sheriff Assoc., Chief Burdell Welsh, 10 Crescent Blvd., Lake Quivira, KS 66217.

Lester was born, June 15, 1924 in Olathe, Kansas where he has lived all his life. He was an Army veteran of WWII. He married Leona Young in 1946 (who preceded her in death 60 days ago). He was former Chief of Police in Olathe, KS and then went to work at Delco Battery Plant where worked until his retirement.

Lester was a member of the Earl Collier Post #153 of the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Bert and Anna Huggins, brothers; Herb, Junior, and Wayne, and a grandson; Tracy.

Lester is survived by his children; C.L. (Diana) Huggins, Janeice (David) Rawles, grandchildren; Mike, Dusty, Ben, and Shelby.
