Charlean (Groves) Brandes was born April 14, 1930 in Walnut Ridge, AR and passed away Friday, December 4, 2015, in Kansas City, MO at the age of 85. A memorial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 11, 2015 at Advent Lutheran Church (11800 W. 151st Street) in Olathe, KS. Committal will be at the City of Urich, MO Cemetery following a graveside service at 2:30 p.m.
Charlean is preceded in death by her parents, Willie Leabern Groves and Emma Esther (Stone) Groves; brothers, Junious (Junior) and LeRoy (Lee); her husband, Melvin Lloyd Brandes, Sr. and son, Melvin (Butch) Brandes, Jr. She is survived by daughter, Oleta Brandes Trainer; son, Dan Brandes; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
