Catherine V. "Ginny" Clark, 89, of Olathe, passed away on May 7, 2014 at Good Samaritan Nursing Center.
She was born on September 9, 1924 to John and Mary (Garlick) Oswalt at Breckenridge, MO.
On July 17, 1943, she married Lloyd E. Clark. Throughout Lloyd's service in the U.S. Navy, they resided in several different cities both nationally and internationally. Her many activities included membership in the Subic Bay P.I. Chapter International Toastmistress Club, serving as Secretary and President, the Meridian MS Officer's Wives Club, serving as Secretary, the Meridian Restoration Foundation, serving as Treasurer and on the Board of Trustees, the Ben Arthur Davis Garden Club, the Federated Women's Club of Mississippi, the Alpha Delphian Federated Women's Club of Meridian, MS, serving as Secretary and Vice-President, the Wesley House Community Center Board of Directors, serving as Secretary of the Board, the Wesley House Community Center Auxiliary, serving as Secretary and President, and she worked as an office volunteer at the "Listening Post" ( a 24-hour crisis hotline), also serving on the Board of Directors.
Ginny was a member of the Poplar Springs Drive United Methodist Church, (Meridian, MS) where she was active in the U.M.W., the Evangelism Commission, and the Administrative Board, and she was also a member of the Grace United Methodist Church (Olathe, KS) where she was a member of U.M.W., the Tuesday Morning volunteer group, the bible study group, and the Christian Gathering Sunday School Class. Ginny taught Sunday School for over 24 years, and also served as a Cub Scout mother for 6 years.
She and Lloyd also enjoyed participating in the Plain Ol' Model A Ford Club, and the Model A Ford Club of America.
Ginny is survived by her loving husband, Lloyd, sons Tim Clark and Tom Clark, her daughters, Nancy Knieriem and Cindy Haimes, sister, Bea Churchman, 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Clark, brother Charles Oswalt, and her parents.
