Carolyn Dian (Bryan) Robinson, 85, died Wednesday, June 13, in Olathe, KS.
She was born to Rollen and Ruth (McAlister) Bryan on August 10, 1932 in Russellville, AR. She married John R. Robinson on November 26, 1949 in Russellville. They were married for more than 65 years before his death on August 1, 2015.
As a newlywed, she taught math to returning World War II veterans at Arkansas Tech in Russellville. While raising her family, she worked as a census taker, served as a Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader, volunteered in school libraries, and worked as a jewelry sales associate at TJ Maxx. The family lived in a variety of places over the years (Russellville, AR; Columbia City, IN; Niles, MI; Fairway, KS) but lived in Springfield, IL since 1971.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Dorcas Bryan Jordan. She is survived by her sons Bob (Pam) Robinson of Springfield, IL and James Robinson of Lenexa; her daughter Deborah (Gene) Neely of Olathe; her grandsons Bryan (Julieann) Robinson of Springfield, IL and Jon Neely of Denver, CO; her great grandchildren Audrey and Julian Robinson of Springfield, IL; and her nieces Deanna Moreno of Russellville, AR, Jonadean Booth of Ft. Smith, AR, and Carrie Clayton of Russellville, AR.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
