Carolyn (Stone) Fall of Olathe, Kansas passed away on Saturday, September 9th, 2017, at the age of 80. At her passing she was surrounded by family, love and prayers as she encountered the incredible grace of Jesus and reunited with family waiting to greet her in heaven.
Carolyn was born in Mankato, Kansas on December 21, 1936 to Oral and Belle Stone. She attended school in Mankato, with the exception of her sophomore year which she completed in Waxahachie, Texas – the highlight of her education. She graduated from Mankato high school in 1954, taking her junior and senior years together. She frequently talked about the fun she had with friends and classmates.
In 1955, Carolyn married Marvin Fall of Montrose, Kansas. In their 61-plus years of marriage they had three sons, Monte (Denver, CO), Kevin (Olathe, KS) and Jaime (Sacramento, CA) along with five grandchildren, Austin, Glen, Alex, Lily and Lani. Without question, Carolyn's greatest love was providing daycare for her grandchildren. In caring for her grandchildren, she and Marvin moved from Jamestown, Kansas to Dallas, Texas to Jefferson, Maryland to Triangle, Virginia and to Sacramento, California before retiring in Olathe, Kansas. In meeting Carolyn, you had to be prepared for stories of her grandkids.
Wherever Carolyn moved, that became "home" to her family. Hospitality was indeed her gift as she loved preparing meals and enjoying the conversation, laughter and play of her children and grandchildren. Carolyn is survived by her husband Marvin (Olathe, KS), sister Mary (Stone) Hanson (Rossville, KS), all three sons, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A celebration of Carolyn's life will be held on September 30 at Penwell-Gabel, 14275 Black Bob Road, Olathe, Kansas. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and the service will begin at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to: Good Samaritan Society – Olathe, 20705 W. 151st Street, Olathe, KS 66061.
