Carolyn Elizabeth (Cameron) Andrews, 96, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on December 6, 2023, at Prairie Elder Care Farmstead.

She was born on July 11, 1927 to Albert and Florence (Garretson) Cameron in Athol, KS.

On November 24, 1946, she married James Leroy Andrews. Jim was preparing for the ministry in the United Methodist Church at the time of their marriage.

Carolyn worked as an Executive Secretary for various organizations including Indiana University/Purdue University at Ft. Wayne, IN, then transferring to the Admission's Department at IU- Kokomo. She also served as Director of Friendship Home for Girls. She co-founded and worked in the Adult Learning Center where she helped people prepare for the GED test, taught English as a second language, sat on the Board of Directors and helped to establish a chapter of Literacy Volunteers of America. She retired from the Department of Corrections where she served as an executive secretary to the Dean of Education.

Carolyn is survived by her loving daughter Kristina (Andrews) Furdek and husband, Thomas Furdek, son Mark Andrews and wife Kristin Summers, grandchildren Brian Furdek, Kevin Furdek and wife Morgan Furdek, and Marlene Andrews, and a great grandchild Mayson Furdek.

She was a member of the PEO sisterhood, St. Mark's United Methodist Church and Venture Class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Leroy Andrews, brother William Cameron and sister-in-law, Sue Cameron, George and Rosalie (Andrews) Beardsley, and brother-in-law Richard Fry and a host of Cousins and Friends.

A memorial service and inurnment will be held at a later date at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Carmel, Indiana in the Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation.
