CAROLE L. HESSLING
Carole L. Hessling, 78 of Overland Park, Kansas passed away October 14, 2010. Visitation will be held Monday, October 18, 2010 9:00 -11:00 AM at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Olathe Chapel, 14275 S. Blackbob Road, Olathe, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer's Association of America.
She was born September 8, 1932 in Wichita, Kansas to Mae Harris Galloway and George F. "Jack" Galloway. She graduated from Wichita SE High School and attended the University of Kansas, where she met her future husband. She was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority.
Carole married Raymond Hessling on December 28, 1952. They resided in Lawrence while Ray completed his studies. Their first home was in Independence, MO. They later moved to Overland Park where they raised their family.
She was a loving, generous and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She devoted all her time to her family. She made holidays special particularly birthdays-always bringing the special cake for each of her four children and preparing their favorite meals to make each one feel special. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life and she spent many hours with them.
Carole is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ray and her four children; Rob (Patricia) Hessling, Woodbury, MN, Rick Hessling, Louisburg, KS, Sandy
( Christopher) Parrish, Olathe, KS, and Lee Ann (Patrick) Feeney, Overland Park, KS, five grandchildren; Ashlee and her husband, Jason, Cindy, Shannon, Laura, and Ryan. She is also survived by her brothers Jay Galloway and Tom Galloway, and her sister Ann Salome.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
