Carol Falkner

Carol Ruth Falkner passed away February 19th in Olathe, Kansas. Carol was born January 4, 1938 in Chanute, Kansas. In 1962, she married James Ian Falkner in Oklahoma. Together, they had three sons: Ian, Bret and Michael.


Carol derived much of her joy from watching her seven grandchildren grow up during the past 25 years; everything from watching sporting events, dance competitions, plays, graduations, family outings, birthdays and more. She also enjoyed traveling and had several opportunities to visit Mexico, Bahamas, Hawaii and many wonderful destinations throughout the United States.

Some of Carol's best memories are from the many years she lived in Ontario, Canada, with her husband and three sons. From a sweeping view on the deck of a beautiful lake house, Carol could watch the sun rise and set across the clear water on many warm, Canadian summer days. Carol also enjoyed visiting with her Lawrence High School classmates, class of 1956. She frequently referred to the great times and great friends growing up in Lawrence, Kansas.

Carol is survived by her three sons: Ian, Bret and Michael; her former husband, James Ian Falkner; grandchildren Curtis Falkner, Tara Sterneker, Ashley Falkner, Toni Falkner, Abby Falkner, Skyler Falkner and Hayden Falkner. Carol loved Charlie, the family Lhasa Apso, who is going to miss being spoiled by her.
