Carol Linda Burleson, 83, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020. She was born in Seiling, Oklahoma on November 30, 1936 to John and Virginia (Edwards) Hammon.
Carol lived most of her younger years in Texas before returning to Oklahoma. She was a self-taught Stenographer, an entrepreneur who opened and operated her own very successful employment service in western Oklahoma and finished her career as a Legal Secretary in Tulsa. She loved to fish, cook, paint and spend time with her family.
She was the loving mother of sons David Jarvis, Mark Jarvis and Phillip Jarvis, grandmother of Matthew Jarvis, Katelyn Gibbons, Sydney Jarvis and Ellis Jarvis and great grandmother of Tallan Jarvis, Piper Jarvis, and Jett Jarvis.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Burleson and her mother Virginia Hammon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Grace Blankets, a charitable organization that provides baby blankets to NICUs across the United States. Grace Blankets was created in memory of Piper and Jett Jarvis.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00pm on Thursday, July, 30, 2020, at Penwell Gabel's Olathe Chapel.
