Carol Bell, 71, of Lee's Summit, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 6, 2018.
She was born to the late James and May Dollahite, October 29, 1947, at the US Naval Station in Port Hueneme, California. Carol earned a Masters Degree in Psychology from the University of Missouri at Kansas City, and spent her career compassionately helping those in need.
Carol was a very spiritual person, with a deep love for nature and the outdoors. She loved holidays, especially the Christmas season. She provided stability, support, encouragement, and love to her friends and family. She touched many lives over the years through her work and personal life. Carol encouraged people to live their lives to the fullest. Even after being diagnosed with cancer in April of 2017, she insisted on focusing on the blessings in her life, and not dwelling on the bad hand she had been dealt. She acknowledged everyday miracles and sought to find the positives in negative situations. She always put others before herself. More than anything, Carol enjoyed spending time with her family and often said her most cherished memories in life involved being a mother and grandmother.
Carol is survived by her two sons, and daughter-in-law: Chris & Sarah Bell of Lee's Summit; and Eric Bell of Independence. She is also survived by two sisters: Joyce Girkin of Greenwood, and Janice Dollahite of Lee's Summit; and three Grandchildren, Ryan, Jack, & Tyler Bell. She is preceded in death by her parents James and May Dollahite, her brother Al Dollahite, and her twin sister Caia Cupito.
Instead of a memorial service, Carol chose to have a Life Celebration in August with her family and friends. To honor her memory, the family suggests volunteering or donating to Saint Luke's Hospice House.
