This is a tribute to Carl Wulf as written by his wife, Virginia, and his children David, Dennis and Becky.
Carl was a kind, quiet, and gentle man, and a loving son, brother, husband and father. He was a man of great faith in his Lord and Savior.
As my husband, we had a loving, loyal, and joyful marriage starting on January 10, 1954. We were blessed to be together 60 years.
He loved his children, he played catch with the boys, and participated in scouting with each, and even though he definitely was not an outdoor person, he went camping with them. He taught all of the kids to drive, and one of the tests was to be able to back up correctly for a mile! He also took lots of hilarious home movies. Carl thought that girls should be treated in a gentle way and when Becky started driving, he gave up his garage space so that she would never have to clear snow from her car in the winter. They watched a lot of TV together, and he always helped in her care when she had surgery. He was always ready with a loan whenever any of the three needed a financial boost.
When the kids grew up, he loved being part of their weddings. He was proud of that walk down the aisle with Becky when she married Wyn.
And when the grandchildren came, he cuddled them as babies, took them to the park to play, and attended all of their graduations, and weddings. One of his greatest joys was to meet some of his great- grandchildren.
He was a man of faith and always attended and worked in his church, both as a board member, and as an usher, and an elder.
Carl's job was in accounting, and he worked loyally for Cereal Food Processors, Inc. for 38 years. He retired at the age of 81.
He also was treasurer of Dennis' scout troop, and treasurer of the executive board of the Palisades where he lived for about 12 years.
His hobbies were reading, movies, bowling and travel. We went on several cruises, made many other trips together and several with good friends.
Carl is survived by his loving wife, Virginia, his son David A. Wulf and his wife, Ginger, his son Dennis C. Wulf and his wife, Joanna, and his daughter Rebecca L. Painter and her husband, Wyn, grandchildren Courtney Hoffman and her husband, Jon, Allison Yokum and her husband, Michael, and Kristin Vandervoort and her husband, Carl, and great-grandchildren Jordyn, Hudson, Graham, Harper, Hadley, Carter and Quinn. Carl is also survived by his sister, Margaret L. Wulf.
As he ended his life here on earth and went to be with his Lord, he was still that kind and gentle man—the best dad and husband, loved by all...family friends, and caregivers.
