Calvin "Leroy" Sallaz Sr, 74, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Kansas City Hospice House. Leroy was born May 31, 1940 in Kansas City, Missouri to Earl and Clara Sallaz. Leroy graduated from Wyandotte High School. Over the years he worked for Hallmark Cards, Railway express, Dales Body shop, and his last 15 years before retiring in 2009 he found his most rewarding position at Olathe School District. He married the love of his life, Linda, on November 4, 1961. They were blessed with three children, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Leroy enjoyed fishing, bowling, and watching westerns and monster movies on TV. Leroy and Linda traveled to Hawaii, Colorado, Florida, Lake Stockton, and Turpentine Creek Animal Sanctuary in Arkansas. He really loved being a Grandpa and Great Grandpa, wrestling on the floor, having squirt gun fights and playing jokes on them. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda, his 3 children, Calvin "Butch" Sallaz (Pam), Larry Sallaz (Joni), and Tina Beck (Wade), 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Daniel (Suzie), Mike (Anita), 1sister, Florence DeGraw (Chuck), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his beloved dog, Bernie. The family suggests donations be given to Kansas City Hospice House.
