Bryce James Peterson, 89, of Lenexa Kansas passed away February 23, 2019 at Delmar Gardens Rehabilitation Home.
He was born in Custer County, Nebraska to Alfred and Laura Peterson. He moved with his family to the Riverton Wyoming valley, where he worked on the family farm until leaving for service in the Army. He served in Alaska until he was discharged, then married Fern Dell Yung of Kimball Nebraska in 1954. Bryce worked as a heavy equipment operator in the Wyoming uranium mines until Fern Dell died, at which time he relocated to Nebraska & Wyoming where he was a carpet layer.
Bryce married Mary Evelyn Tyler (Updegrove) in 1976. They relocated to southern Arkansas where he was a cross-country truck driver and farmer, raising everything from sorghum and watermelons to chickens.
Following Mary's death in 2016, Bryce relocated to Lenexa Kansas, where he lived until his death.
Bryce is survived by one son, John Peterson and wife Kathy of Bucyrus, Kansas, a Stepson, Scott Tyler and wife Angie of Dubach, Louisiana., a stepdaughter, Joyce Ammann of New Boston, Texas, a daughter-in-law Beth Peterson of Chandler, Arizona, three sisters: Fern Yung and Erma Yung of Kimball, Nebraska and Hazel Peterson of Korea. He has six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Bryce was proceeded in death by his parents, his two wives, son Morris Peterson, brothers, Paul, Miles and Andy Peterson and Sisters Lois Peterson and Milly Frobeiter.
