Brock Rodgers passed away Tuesday morning, June 24th, 2014, in Overland Park, Kansas. He was born on April 18th, 1990, in Birmingham, Alabama. Brock was a 2008 graduate of Blue Valley West High School in Overland Park, Kansas, and attended North Central Kansas Technical College in Beloit, Kansas.
Brock was preceded in death by his grandmother Martha Anderson. He is survived by his mother Cathy Rodgers; grandfather Jimmy Brock Anderson; aunts Patty (Mark) Grasinski; Lori (Roswell) Morgan; Nan Norris and Jan (Mark) Golladay; cousins Courtney, Mackenzie and Thomas Golladay, Tanner Norris, Nick, Mallori and Aubrey Morgan and Evie Grasinski; his dog Bandit and friends Kelsie Aue, Daniel Shumate, Hannah and Ian Smale, Kevin Ingraham, Robert Wagner, Carson Wood and many others who will miss him, his smile and adventure.
Brock was active in the Boy Scouts of America attaining the rank of Eagle Scout while with Troop 425. He was also a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. Brock enjoyed High Adventure trips to Philmont Scout Ranch, Florida Seabase, Boundary Waters, Colorado and to Alaska to name a few. His zeal for life was unparalleled by most as he continued his adventures through the wilderness.
Please join us to celebrate Brock's life on Saturday, June 28th, 2014, at Heritage United Methodist Church, 12850 Quivira Road, Overland Park, Kansas 66213. Visitation will be from 3:00PM until 4:00PM with the Celebration of Life to immediately follow. A reception will be held afterwards.
With Brock's love of the outdoors the Brock Rodgers High Adventure Scholarship is being formed for Boy Scout Troop 425. Memorial contributions may be made to this fund, Alzheimer's , American Heart Association or the charity of your choice in his memory. Please consider organ donation as did Brock in always wanting to help other people, practice random acts of kindness, live your life to the fullest.
