Brian Lawrence Peak

September 29, 1969 — October 24, 2022

Brian Lawrence Peak, 53, of Stilwell, KS, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2022, after a brave battle with glioblastoma.

Brian was born on September 29, 1969, grew up in Manhattan, Kansas and graduated from Manhattan High School in 1988 where he was a multi-sport athlete in swimming, cross country, and track, and an accomplished pianist. Brian graduated from Kansas State University with a BS in Business Administration with a Marketing emphasis in 1993.

After college, Brian began his career at Walmart, and went on to serve as a Client Service Director at Mosaic, a Client Service Director at Influence, a Brand Manager at Aquila, a Senior Marketing Manager at Asurion, and a Vice President/Director of Client Services at Lockton BCI

Brian will be remembered for his calm presence, big genuine smile, contagious laugh, and subtle sense of humor. Brian was a music enthusiast, always having a song in his head, and often singing lyrics to himself. Music provided endless joy and bonding memories with his family that will live in their hearts forever.

Brian loved his family, being outdoors, biking, an avid sports fan, and lifelong fan of the K-State Wildcats. Family vacations were designed around biking in amazing places, and he loved to ski with his brothers and hunt with his son and friends. He approached his cancer battle with the same quiet grit as he did the 50 mph winds on Mt. Rainier and 100-degree heat at the Unbound 100-mile gravel race. He would not quit, ever.

Brian is survived by his wife, Kellie Peak, son Connor Peak, daughter Lauren Peak, his mother Carol VanNahmen (Alan), brothers: Christopher Peak (Michele), Nathan Peak (Alison), Nicholas Peak (Tracy), and nieces and nephew: Alana Peak, Evelyn Peak and Owen Peak, and Uncle Roger Peak and stepmother Suzie Peak. Brian is preceded in death by his father, Larry Peak and grandmother, Betty Peak.

Brian requested a private scattering of ashes in one of his favorite spots, Rocky Mountain National Park. We are planning a Celebration of life for a later date and will update family and friends with the information as soon as we have it.
