Funeral service for Brian Hartley, age 49 of Prairie Village, will be Wednesday, August 8 at 2:00 pm at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S Blackbob, Olathe, KS. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:30-2:00pm also in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials are suggested to the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City, 5445 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, KS 66104.
Brian Hartley passed away on Friday, Aug 3, 2012 at his residence in Prairie Village, KS. He was born on May 27, 1963 in Olathe, KS to Francke and Alice Hartley. He was a 1981 graduate of Olathe North High School and was married to Cynthia Blackburn on July 3, 1992. Brian was employed with CI-LOR Manufacturing as Quality Control manager for the past 18 years.
Brian was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and enjoyed all KU sports, particularly basketball "ROCK CHALK".
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Hartley, his mother Alice Hartley, his brother Bruce (Shirley) Hartley, sister Melinda Winter, brother-in-law Mark Wallen, nephew Michael Wallen, niece Michele Gardini, great-nephew Aidan Wallen, and great-niece Olivia Wallen. He is also survived by his mother and father-in-law Bob and Jo Donna Blackburn, and sister-in-law Lori (Rusty) Heck and their children Briton, Graham, and Madeline. He was preceded in death by his father, Francke Hartley in 2005.
