Bobby Lynn O'Neal

May 16, 1959 — November 3, 2024

Bobby Lynn O’Neal, 65, of Belton, MO, passed away peacefully on November 3,2024 surrounded by family and friends.

Bobby was born on May 16, 1959, in Broken Arrow, OK to Earnest and June O’Neal.

He was raised in Oklahoma and moved to Illinois during his teenage years, where he began to follow in his father’s footstep as a drywaller. He graduated in 1976 from Hammond Christian Academy and married Bonnie Webb in 1977. Together they had three children Brandon, Bryson and Brooklynn.

Bobby was a drywaller his entire life. After being involved with family businesses, he ventured out on his own and started his greatest accomplishment known as, B&B Drywall. His company did residential and commercial jobs. He loved what he did and took pride in his company. Bobby amazed people with his skill as they watched him hang sheetrock by himself. He had his own exceptional technique for hanging and finishing that would ensure the quality of his work. To say he was talented at what he did would be an understatement.

Not only was he skilled in his profession, but he was also an employer who took great care of his employees. Throughout his life he employed numerous men, some that have been with him for over 30 years. He valued his incredible and dedicated employees. Even though he was the owner he loved working alongside his men and getting his hands dirty. When he stepped into help the race was on!

Besides owning his B&B company, Bobby loved softball. He played on and sponsored many softball teams where he gained lifelong friends. He traveled throughout the states with the highest level of softball and was known to everyone as “That’s BOBBY”. He loved to pitch batting practice to everyone and would not stop until they were finished! His favorite position was pitcher. The smile that covered his face after crushing a ball was the best and you felt so proud that he got to feel the passion he preached to his players.

Hunting was another passion of Bobby’s. Every year he loved going to Colorado and elk hunting. Many antlers were hung in his home and shop as he displayed his passion. He helped keep the taxidermist in business! In recent years he loved hunting on his land, better known as “B&B Ranch”, in Louisburg, Kansas. He always said the land was “AWESOME”! He loved being able to hunt on his own property and it ultimately became his oasis.

Even though he could be a glorious pain in the neck, once you were marked as important to him, he’d be by your side, a faithful friend. He loved helping others and would give the shirt off his back or money out of his pocket to help a family member, friend, employee, or organization.

Bobby was a determined and focused person. If he had a goal he wouldn’t stop until he achieved it. He was meticulous and loved things neat and clean. He was an amazing craftsman and loved working with his hands.

He was a mentor to many.
He was always large and in charge!

While we lost our dad, many have lost a friend and loved one in him. He has been a rock to many.

He is preceded in death by his parents Earnest and June O’Neal, Sister Barbara O’Neal Rowsey & her husband/Brother-in-law Benny Rowsey, Sister-in-law Annette “Nettie” O’Neal.

He is survived by wife Belinda O’Neal; his 3 kids; Brandon O’Neal of Liberty, MO; Bryson & Christy O’Neal of Branson, MO; Brooklynn & Toby Johnson of Peculiar, MO; and their mother Bonnie O’Neal; Daughter-in-law Amanda O’Neal; 4 grandchildren; Brody & Baylee Johnson; Raelynn & William O’Neal; 4 brothers; John, Gary, Danny & Jamie O’Neal. Her two sons & grandchildren; Matt & Karah Bachelor of Richmond, KS; Lane, Wyatt & Acey, Eric & Kaydee Bachelor of Paola, KS; Grady, Parker & Beau, her dad Richard & Pat Larkin of Ottawa, KS.

A true living legend that will never be forgotten and always loved.
