Billie Compton, 92, a long-time resident of Olathe, died March 16, 2015 at Aberdeen Village. She was born August 28, 1922 in Carrollton, MO to Olive Horn Brewer and William E. Brewer. Billie received an associate degree from William Woods College. After graduating she married her high school sweetheart, Edwin T. Compton, (Olathe North High School teacher and City of Olathe librarian) and moved to Olathe. While raising two children, she ran the local Welcome Wagon franchise and later started her own small business, Settin' In. Billie loved serving her community by volunteering for the Salvation Army and the First Presbyterian Food Bank. She enjoyed playing bridge, sewing and quilting in her spare time.
She is survived by her son, Tom Compton (Deborah); daughter Emily Compton and grandchildren James Compton (Colleen) and Katie Compton (Mark Legg-Compton) and one great grandchild.
