Dr. Bill M. Sullivan
At dawn's first light, Bill M. Sullivan, 74, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, June 23, 2007, in Olathe, Kansas. The family will receive friends for visitation Monday evening, June 25 from 6:00-8:00 p.m., with a time for family and friends to celebrate memories beginning at 7:00 p.m. in Garrett Chapel at College Church of the Nazarene. The family suggests contributions to the Bill M. Sullivan Memorial Fund to be used to carry on Bill's passion for starting new churches and providing pastoral training. Bill was born January 7, 1933, in Grange, Arkansas, to Munsey and Dottie Sullivan. He graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1950. He attended Southern Nazarene University, formerly Bethany Peniel College in Bethany, Oklahoma receiving a BA in Religion in 1954. He also graduated from Nazarene Theological Seminary, Kansas City, 1954-57 and earned a doctor of ministry degree from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. Bill married Elizabeth Ann (Kiddy) Howard, daughter of Nazarene pioneer missionaries, Everette and Garnet Howard. He and Kiddy started the Westminster Church of the Nazarene in Denver, Colorado; pastored Colorado Springs First Church of the Nazarene; served as North Carolina District Superintendent; and for 23 years, was a Division Director at the Global Church of the Nazarene headquarters; retiring in 2003. In addition, Dr. Sullivan was an author, speaker and consultant.
Survivors are his wife, Kiddy Sullivan, daughter and son-in-law, Brad and Deb King of Olathe, daughter and son-in-law, Rev. Don and Diann Diehl of Atlanta, Georgia, sister, Arawanna Kifer of Olathe, and four grandchildren, Abby and Brian King, Derek and Dalton Diehl.
