Beulah Ellington

Beulah "Bee" G. Ellington, 85, of Olathe, passed away on February 13, 2015 at Olathe Medical Center.
She was born on September 11, 1929 to Gifford and Gertrude (Minor) Adamson in Denver, CO.
She married Sam Ellington in 1953, and together they made their home in Olathe. Bee worked as a public school math teacher primarily at Olathe High School for 30 years. Sam preceded her in death in 1996.

Bee's career included membership in the National and Kansas Education Associations, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the Council of Presidential Awardees in Mathematics, having received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching Mathematics for the State of Kansas in 1989.

In 1998, she married Myron E. Chaffee, and they also resided in Olathe, Kansas. She is survived by Myron, children Andrew Ellington and Alexis Ellington, grandchildren Caleb Ellington, Hanna Ellington, Seth Ellington, and Zacchary Ellington, and children by marriage, Myron Chaffee Jr., Nancy Sanchez, Carolyn McCollum, and Patricia Meyer, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren by marriage.

Bee was active at the Grace United Methodist Church. And, she played the best hand of bridge in town.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gifford Adamson, mother, Gertrude Adamson, husband, Sam Ellington, sister Patricia Fink and brother John Adamson.

The City of Olathe's Downtown Outdoor Sculpture Exhibits were a passion of Bee's.
