Betty May Talkington Nadeau, 96, of Independence, MO passed away on December 17, 2021.
She was born in Fort Smith Arkansas on July 20, 1925 to Barbara Theresa (Heim) Wymore and James McCann and raised with her step-father Loris (Andy) N. Wymore.
Betty graduated from Central High School in Kansas City, MO. She worked in the Kansas City area as a bookkeeper at SW Bell, Pratt Whitney during WWII, and the Alameda Plaza. She loved to go dancing at KC nightclubs.
Betty married Robert Talkington on March 3, 1942 and they later divorced. She married Robert J. Nadeau on New Year's Eve 1978 in Beaumont, Texas. They owned the Pizza Shack Restaurant in China, Texas.
Betty was known for her feisty, spunky, un-filtered nature and her fierce independence.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister Barbara Meyer Wymore and her brother Jack N. Wymore.
She is survived by her sister Mary Jo (Roland) Sawtelle; her beloved niece and caregiver Kara (Bob) Finkbiner; and many other nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews, two of whom, Julie and Kristen were at her side when she passed into the Lord's hands.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Betty donated her body to the University Of Kansas School Of Medicine.
