Betty Ann Mcewen

August 17, 1949 — November 17, 2022

Betty Ann McEwen was born 8/17/49, the 3rd out of 5 daughters born to Walter and Laura McEwen. She was raised in Des Moines and graduated from North High in 1967. She continued her education at Northeast Missouri State University graduating with a teaching degree with emphasis in special education. Betty had a younger sister who was developmentally disabled and she always said someone was taking care of Nancy when she couldn't so in return she could help someone else with their sister or brother. She retired in 2011. She married her first husband Bob and that marriage was blessed with 3 sons. Richard, William and Joseph. They eventually parted ways and she married William King on 3/16/1991. Betty was involved in book club, knitting club, played in the bell choir at church and enjoyed quilting and knitting. She enjoyed making things for various charitable organizations such as quilt tops and baby hats for the NICU or red hats for the American Heart Association and pink things for the Komen foundation.

She was preceded in death by her son William, her sister Nancy and her parents.

She is survived by her husband William, sons Richard & Joe (Allison), grandchildren Josie, Alyssa (Taylor), Ivan & Abby, great grandchildren Maggie, Dawson & Cameron, sisters, cousins & many other family & friends.
