Betty Jean Keplinger passed away suddenly at her home on May 16, 2016. She was the daughter of Oliver W. and Hattie (Orr) Barnhart. She was born on January 27, 1933 in Urich, Missouri. She lost her own mother at the age of 9.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Merle and Wayne Barnhart.
She is survived by her husband "Kep" of the home. They had been married 64 years and just celebrated that anniversary.
She leaves behind a daughter Joy (Eric) Livengood, Ron (Diana) Keplinger and Melinda Keplinger, and a brother Don Barnhart. She also leaves 6 grand-children, 7 great-grand-children and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was raised by her grandparents in Urich, Mo. She attended Clinton High graduating in 1951. After graduating she moved to KCMO and worked for the telephone company.
She married the love of her life Kep Keplinger in 1952 in KCMO. They relocated to San Francisco where Kep was in the Navy. The relocated to Long Beach and eventually moved to the KC Metro area.
She worked for the House of Decorative Accessories (HODA) for 14 years. She was a florist at Tobler's and Dillon's.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church since 1969. She volunteered countless hours to the Church's Clothes Closet.
She was dearly loved by her husband, children and the rest of the family. She enjoyed having all her flowers around her.She was so creative with floral arrangements.
