Betty Jo Arbuckle, 79, of Olathe, Kansas passed away Thursday Nov. 14, 2013 at home after a long battle with cancer.
Betty Jo was born Aug. 19, 1934 in Earle, Arkansas to Tommy and Gladys Atkins. After marrying Wayne Arbuckle they moved to the Kansas City area where they lived until retirement, moving to Oklahoma. After living several years in Oklahoma they moved back to the Kansas City area, settling in Olathe, Kansas.
She studied Nursing at Research Medical Center, becoming an LPN at that hospital and later working at Shawnee Mission Hospital. Church and family were very important to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Tommy Atkins and Gladys (Atkins) Crosswhite, her sister Janie Capps, brother Billy Burke, daughter-in-law, Twila Arbuckle and twin grandsons, Charlton and Colton Kline.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years Wayne Arbuckle, 2 daughters Jackie Howard and her husband Jerry of Kansas City, Missouri and Kimberly Kline of Olathe, Kansas and 1 son; Philip Arbuckle of Olathe, Kansas. She is also survived by 7 grandsons; Joshua Howard and his wife Tara, Jacob Howard, Cameron Kline and his wife Kassy, Christian Kline, Matthew Arbuckle, Benjamin Arbuckle, Carson Kline and 1 great grandson; Jack Howard.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Abundant Life Assembly of God Church or Hospice House of Olathe Medical Center.
