BETTY JEAN HOCKENSMITH, age 80, passed away March 5,2012 in Olathe, KS. Private family services will be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
Betty was born April 12, 1931 in Phoenix, AZ to Aaron and Mary Ethel Pigg. She married Donald Hockensmith on June 4, 1950 in Clarkdale, AZ. Betty was employed as a loan officer with Bannister Bank and Trust in Kansas City, MO for 24 years. She enjoyed caring for her family, and they will miss her compassionate and loving heart.
Surviving are her husband, Capt. Donald Hockensmith, her son Donald (Dianna) Hockensmith II, her grandchildren Donald (Chandra) Hockensmith III, Heidi Hockensmith Boothe, Rachel Dean Hockensmith, Amanda (Andrew) Jo Ward, Steven (Shilo) Williams, and seven great-grandchildren.
