Betty Jo Deisher, 80, of Olathe, passed away on September 9, 2023.
She was born on January 24, 1943 to Joseph and Mollie (Rohers) Perry in Marshall, MO. She moved to Topeka, KS as a child attending Randolph Elementary and graduating from Topeka High School in 1961.
Betty started her career as a secretary, moved on to selling real estate and then selling furniture at her father's furniture store, Shawnee Furniture. Betty's love of interior design led her to establish Sofas Etc. with her husband Chris in 1989. Betty had a keen eye for color and enjoyed decorating her own house as well as those of her children and customers. Betty retired in 2007.
On October 7, 1973, she married Chris. They lived in Arkansas, Spain and Delaware, finally settling in Topeka, KS.
Betty was a devoted mother and affectionately known as "Gramie" to her three children and six grandchildren. She showered them with unconditional love and was always ready to plan exciting and memorable adventures.
Betty is survived by her loving Husband, Chris, children Sherrie Reed, Perry (Amy) Deisher, and Nancy (Don) Hammond as well as 6 grandchildren- Mark Reed, Travis Reed, Mollie Reed, Dustin (Lindsey) Deisher, Nicholas Hammond and Cora Hammond.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Joseph Perry, Mother, Mollie Perry and sister, Jody Harris.
Betty will be missed by all those fortunate to have known her. She was a warm and welcoming person who loved to strike up a conversation with a stranger.
Visitation will be held, at 11:00 AM on October 3, 2023, at Penwell-Gabel Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Mid-Town Topeka, Kansas. Graveside service to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka, KS.
