Belle Marie (Shellenberger) Nash, 94, passed away February 1, 2017. As a godly woman, she was loved by all. She was born in Newton, KS, July 8, 1922. As a happy child, she enjoyed the outdoors and activities such as roller-skating and baseball. Her Mennonite parents had her involved in church as a child even to the point of dusting the pews and cleaning the church on Saturdays. Her parents moved to Wichita, KS where she graduated from North High School and attended Friends University and Bethany Nazarene College before getting married on July 8, 1943 to Forrest W. Nash.
She was known as a mother and helpmate to her husband who was a pastor and district superintendent in the Church of the Nazarene for forty-three years. She served as the missionary president for 13 years on the Chicago Central District. Always putting everyone else first, she was a true servant who endeared herself to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends and neighbors. Her smile and winsome spirit were in evidence every day of her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Grace Shellenberger; brother and sister, Almon and Thelma and her husband, Forrest W Nash.
She is survived by her sister and brothers Elfrieda, Elmer and Robert Shellenberger; sons, Edmond (Judy), James (Joy), and David (Connie) Nash; daughter, Beverly (Ken) Christoffersen; ten grandchildren, Erin (Jamie) Casler, Nicholas (Tati) Christoffersen, Edie (Corey) MacPherson, Shelley (Rich) Doering, Dana Christoffersen, Brad (Katie) Christoffersen, Tim (Kelly) Nash, Wesley (Hilary) Nash, Zachary (Danielle) Nash, and Kaila Nash; and fourteen great grandchildren, Nash and Anna Casler, Katherine and Logan MacPherson, Jackson, Colman, and Bryson Doering, Belle Christoffersen, Abigail and Luke Nash, Eli and Jonas Nash, Samuel and Finley Nash.
Her life was a testimony of love and grace. Heaven is richer.
