On June 12, 2017 the world lost a strong, fierce, and sassy woman. Beatriz grew up in a time where people discouraged women from being independent.
Born July 5, 1931 in the town of Harlingen, Texas, Beatriz always kept people on their toes. She did a great many admirable things in her time. She grew up picking cotton as a child and progressed to owning her own Beauty Salon. She had a passion for painting, she enjoyed riding horses, traveling, making crafts, and spending quality time with all of her family. She did not show weakness and always had an "I can and I will" attitude towards anyone who may have tried to doubt her.
She leaves behind a legacy for all the women in her family. With high standards to live up to it will be a miracle if any of the women could compare. She is survived by her son John Lucas( Carolyn), John's five children, 14 grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren, daughter Vicki Wagner (Dan), Vicki's two children and 8 grandchildren, and her son Joey Longoria (Kathy), Joey's two children and two grandchildren as well as many other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, William "Bill" Lacer.
She will always be remembered as a strong independent woman who would never give up.
The family requests that any donations be made to Vietnam Veterans.
A private family service will be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery, where she will be inurned along with her husband, William "Bill" Lacer.
