Barbara Jean Mahoney

With loving grace, Barbara Jean Mahoney, 89, of Prairie Village, went to our glorious maker on November 15, 2024. Barbara will be greeted in eternal life by her husband, James and other family and friends that have made that blessed journey ahead of her. 

Barbara was born in Kansas City on December 2, 1934, to Ralph and Dorothy Vick. Barbara went to Southwest High School where she was introduced by friends to her lifelong soulmate Jim from Hogan High School. Barbara and Jim, married in 1955, lived their entire lives in the Kansas City area where they were blessed with a family of 6 children, and where life was always busy with kids’ softball, baseball and summer camping trips to Colorado. 

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ralph Vick Jr. 

Survivors include her daughters, Theresa Fowler (Donald), Deborah Thorpe (Kevin), Brenda Crockett (William), and Margaret Gibson; her sons James Jr. (Nancy) and Michael (Diane) Mahoney, 19 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and counting. We love you and miss you. May this long life here on earth only bring the start of God’s blessed eternal life in paradise.
