BARBARA FLURY HOGE
Age 65, passed away May 11, 2007 in Olathe, KS. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 14 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S. Blackbob Rd., Olathe, KS, with Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 15 at 10:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 16000 W 143rd Street, Olathe, KS. Interment, Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association 837 S. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67211.
Barbara was born on September 11, 1941 in Oak Harbor, Ohio to Joseph and Helen Flury. She graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in Elementary Education, and she taught school in Newport News, VA for a number of years. She married William Hoge on December 28, 1963, and they made their home in the Olathe area in 1975.
She enjoyed coaching soccer, gardening, sewing, painting, and being involved in her families activities.
She is survived by her husband, William, and her daughter Elizabeth (Kevin) Lane of Spring Hill, KS, grand-daughters Emily and Elise, her sister Irene Flury, and her brothers Paul and Robert Flury. We will love and miss her.
