Barbara Bonham Eaton passed away on February 23rd, 2021 after a long and valiant fight against glioblastoma. Though her family misses her greatly, her heavenly homecoming is a source of joy and comfort.
Barbara was born in Murphysboro, Illinois on February 19th, 1950. She graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene University in their 'Pioneer Class' in 1972, cum laude, with a degree in music education. Barbara worked as a music teacher at Rolling Ridge Elementary School for several years before joining her husband Don in his various ministry assignments in Clearwater and Topeka, KS. She later worked for Yellow Freight as a pricing analyst.
Barbara was gifted in many types of crafting. She created and gifted many silk floral creations over the years. She dabbled in many hobbies and later in life became a wonderful gardener. Her greatest joy was sharing her love of music. She was never happier than when she was sharing the message of Jesus through song in her clear soprano voice.
Barbara is preceded in death by her first husband, Doug Schindler, her father Robert Bonham, and her sister Joyce Boeck. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Donald Eaton; mother Vivian Bonham; daughter Britney and her husband Scott Rice; son Joshua and his wife Tiffany, and grandchildren Mary Brooke, Matthew, Maxwell, Joseph, and Andrew; as well as many other family members and loving friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to College Church of the Nazarene.
