Before moving to Olathe, Audrey was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Newton, where she was actively involved in the Altar Society. She was a dedicated employee of 20 years at Chong's Restaurant. She was preceded in death by her sister Mary (Schmidt) Fugle and her parents, Nicholas and Lillian Schmidt. She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, John C. Schwartz; sons David Schwartz of Palmdale, CA, Michael Schwartz of Olathe, KS and Paul Schwartz of Olathe, KS; daughter Eileen (Schwartz) Huffman of Lawrence, KS; seven grandchildren; brothers Edward Schmidt of Schaumburg, IL, Robert Schmidt of Mount Prospect, IL, and John Schmidt of Norridge, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
