ARTURO "ART" CIRILO MUÑOZ

Born March 18, 1952, passed away March 7, 2009, surrounded by his family at his home in Olathe. Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Tuesday, March 10, at 6:00 p.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 16000 W. 143rd, Olathe, followed by a time of visitation. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 11 at 10:00 a.m. also at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Interment, Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS. The family suggests contributions to the Heart of America Council, 10210 Holmes Rd, Kansas City, MO 64131.

Art was born in Topeka, KS to Buena Ventura and Josephine Barranco Muñoz. He married Sally Luna on July 25, 1981 in Topeka, KS, and together they raised their family in the Kansas City area. He was employed with Black and Veatch as an engineer for over 25 years. Active in the Boy Scouts of America as an Assistant Scout Master of Troop #201 of Overland Park, KS, he especially enjoyed his time camping and being a mentor to the younger scouts.

Survived by his wife, Sally, of the home, his children, Elizabeth (Dylan) Stewart of Lenexa, KS, Matthew Muñoz, and Yvonne Corpus, his grandchildren Isabel and Shawn Stewart, his mother Josephine Muñoz. Also surviving are his sisters Teresa (Charles) Wilson, Vicky (Jesse) Gutierrez, Becky (Ruben) Cruz and Josie (Vincent) Alfrey, and brothers Pete (Gloria) Muñoz, Lino Muñoz and Buena Muñoz, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
