Arthur Allen Duffield of Olathe, Kansas passed away on his 86th birthday, Sunday, March 20, 2022. He received the gift of joining his Lord and Savior and being reunited with his loving wife, Marie. He was born March 20, 1936, in Spring Hill, Kansas to Guy and Bessie (Ledom) Duffield. Art was the eighth of nine children.
Art attended high school in Spring Hill where he met the love of his life, Marie Trammell. They were married soon after graduating and were together for 65 years.
Art enjoyed a long career in HVAC and sheet metal. He was a kind and generous man who was always ready to lend a helping hand. He was active in his church, spent many years as a volunteer coach for Special Olympics and volunteered at the local food pantry. Art enjoyed traveling with Marie, golfing, carving, painting, and spending lots of time working in his garden. In addition to growing beautiful flowers, Art loved growing vegetables (especially tomatoes) and was always willing to share.
Art will be best remembered for his storytelling with lots of jokes mixed in. He had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. He loved to laugh and was a people person. Art was adored by everyone who knew him.
Art is survived by his daughter, Jeanine (Abe) Soltani, grandsons Adam, Johan and Ali, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marie Duffield; parents, Guy and Bessie Duffield; and siblings Dorothy Hawkins, Leo C. Duffield Sr, Calvin Duffield, Alice Hartley, Margaret Surber, Betty Spencer, Clarence Duffield, and John Duffield.
The family will receive guests for a visitation from 9:00-10:00 am on Monday, March 28, 2022 at Penwell Gabel's Olathe Chapel (14275 S Black Bob Rd). The funeral will follow at 10:00 am. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Arthur's memory be made to Hillsdale Presbyterian Church, Special Olympics, or Faith Hospice.
