Anneliese Henriette Hackenberger Zacharias, born September 19, 1921, in Cologne, Germany, died peacefully June 11, 2006, in Olathe, Kansas. Prior to moving to Olathe in 2003, she was a long time resident of Dodge City, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr, Carl Kurt Zacharias, and her brothers, Wilhelm Hackenberger, Richard Hackenberger, and Hans Hackenberger. She is survived by her children, Klaudia Maria Zacharias Thompson, and her husband, G. Ray Thompson, of Salisbury, MD; Micheline Elizabeth Zacharias Burger, and her husband, Philip Michael Burger, of Olathe, KS; Peter Walther Konrad Zacharias, of Lawrence, KS; and Johann Albert Zacharias, and his wife, Marcia Higginson, of Lenexa, KS; and her grandchildren, Sarah and Matthew Thompson; Charles Burger; Michael Burger and his wife, Julie Burger; Antoinette Burger, and Peter Burger; and Mijanou Burger Cackler; and her husband, Bryan Cackler; Bernadette, Nicholas, and Jacob Zacharias; and Lydia, Kurt, and Isabel Zacharias; and her great-grandchildren, Zachary, Michaela, Tyler and Madison Burger. A memorial service will be held at the chapel at the Spanish Peaks Scout Ranch, Walsenburg, CO. on Sunday, July 9, 2006, at 10:00AM. Her remains will be placed next to her late husband, Dr. Carl Kurt Zacharias, at their beloved "Happy Home", Walsenburg, CO.
