Anna Marie Zambri

Anna Marie Zambri, nee Caggiano, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 19, 2024 at Ignite Medical Resort Overland Park. Anna Marie was born in Montclair, NJ to Dr. Anthony P. Caggiano, Sr. and Ellen, nee Donlon, on January 28, 1941. She graduated from Lacordaire Academy and went on to become an avid seeker of knowledge. Anna Marie spent her life exploring different vocations, all with the ultimate goal of serving others.

Graduating from George Washington University, she was a nurse in the 1960’s. She moved on to helping families find their place in the world as a realtor in the 1970’s. Anna Marie graduated from Johnson County Community College and worked within the burgeoning computer science industry at BMA, and Sprint in the 1980’s. In the 1990’s, she studied psychology/counseling at University of Kansas, Lawrence and Avila University.

Anna Marie and Bob Zambri devoted themselves to each other in January 1965, a commitment kept for almost 60 years. The couple started their lives together in Bloomfield, NJ before moving to the Jersey shore, close to the ocean she loved. In 1977, Anna Marie and Bob transplanted their young family to Prairie Village, KS for Bob’s job.

Anna Marie was an active parishioner at the parish of Cure of Ars in Prairie Village, an ardent volunteer for various charities that touched her heart and with her children’s schools and activities. She had many hobbies including painting ceramics, reading, and doing jigsaw puzzles.

Anna Marie is survived by the children and grandchildren she raised with love and devotion. She is missed by her three daughters and sons-in-law: Karen (Steve) Schutter of Parkville, Christine (Tyler) Pittenger of Olathe, and Shari (Garry) Redding of Lenexa. As well as by her grandchildren, the joys of her life: Carson, Jake, Joel, Tessa, Brendan, Paxton, and Jessica. Anna Marie is preceded in death by her devoted husband, her parents, her brothers (Anthony and Joe) and her sister (Ellen). She looked forward to being with them again.
