Kiamichi Ann Sandoval (Ainsworth), 73, passed in Overland Park, Kansas on January 9, 2019. She was born in Spiro, Oklahoma on June 26, 1945.
Ann grew up in Spiro, Oklahoma to a prominent farmer and small business owner and a mother who was active in the community and managed the household while raising two children. She enjoyed cheerleading and playing basketball in high school. She graduated high school a year early and went on to Oklahoma State University where she double-majored in education and foreign language and later attained her Masters in education.
After college she toured Europe for 3 months before moving to Kansas City to begin her career as a French and Spanish teacher, and started a family.
Ann believed in equality and diversity and was proud of her Choctaw Indian heritage. She was known to all as a great listener, warm, loving, and a compassionate mentor.
Ann was preceded in death by her father David Cornelius Ainsworth (Duke) and mother Kiamichi Moncrief, son-in-law Jeffrey W. Pinder and granddaughter Petrita.
She is survived by her 3 children Anthony Ainsworth Sandoval (Sonja), Karley Kiamichi Pinder (Matt), Sarah Ann Chambers (Arthur), granddaughters Paige Kiamichi Pinder, Avery Elizabeth Wagnon, grandson Asher Allen Chambers, brother David Moncrief Ainsworth and his children, Dana, Chris and Lisa.
