Olathe, Kansas - Ann Rudolph Johnson, 80, passed away on July 30, 2024, surrounded by her family. Ann is survived by her husband of 61 years, George Johnson; her twin sister, Jan Rudolph Leinbach-Butts (Robert Butts); her sister, Jo Anne Rudolph Gill Connors (Paul); her brother, James Rudolph West (Mary); her two children, Cheryl Johnson and David Johnson; her three granddaughters, Carissa Johnson; Jessica Johnson-Hadd; Gracie Johnson; her grandson, Chase Johnson; four great-grandchildren, Briar, Alanna, Drayden, Asher, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Drew Rudolph West; her father, James Burton Rudolph; and her step-father, Louie R. West.
Ann was born in Canon City, CO. Her father was a Private in the Air Force during WWII. She grew up in Kansas City, MO, where she and her siblings attended Paseo High School, and she graduated in 1962. She married her husband, George Johnson, in 1963. They owned Johnson Electric, and Ann was Vice-President.
They were avid tennis players and formed many friends, traveling to many tournaments. Ann cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ann passed away after losing her battle to metastasized breast cancer and bone cancer.
The family will receive guests for a visitation on Friday, September 27, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Penwell-Gabel's Olathe Chapel. A second visitation will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 10:00-11:00 a.m., with the Celebration of Life following at 11:00 a.m.
