Amy Catherine Chapman, 51, of Overland Park, KS passed Thursday, July 30, 2020. A celebration of her life will be 11AM Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Westminster United Presbyterian Church in Emporia, KS.
Amy was born June 7, 1969 in Tokyo, Japan to Lou and Mary Fraas. Amy grew up in Topeka Kansas where she attended Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic School. She moved with her family to Fulda Germany in 1981 and attended Fulda American School. She was active on the tennis and track teams. After graduation she returned to the States. She graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. She then attended Emporia State University where she received her Masters in School Psychology. Amy worked as a school psychologist in the Emporia school district for 13 years. She also worked for the Newton, KS school district and Washburn Rural school district. Amy enjoyed reading, movies, playing games and shopping with her girls. Amy was a great mother to her girls. She took such wonderful care of them and loved them so much. She especially enjoyed buying the same
three outfits and dressing the girls up alike. Mya, Ana, and Sara loved their mom immensely and will forever miss and love her.
Amy was preceded in death by her brother Matthew Fraas.
Amy is survived by her three daughters Mya, Ana and Sara Chapman of Emporia, KS her mother Mary Fraas of Lenexa, KS, her father Lou Fraas and wife Janet of Olathe, KS, her brother Dave Fraas of Boise, Idaho, her sister Lizzi Fraas of Lenexa, KS, and her niece Isla Fraas.
In lieu of flowers the family has set up a go fund me page to help with funeral expenses and her girls college expenses.
