She was known as Kay to her family and many friends. Kay passed away from complications of Covid on October 6, 2022 at her home in Gardner, Kansas with her husband and sons at her side.
Kay met her future husband Pete while he was stationed at Fort Gordon in Georgia in 1976. They were married in Georgia on April 23, 1977. Since they got married, Pete and Kay have lived in South Carolina, Georgia, Iowa, Minnesota and Kansas. While living in Kansas, Kay worked for JC Air, BF Goodrich, & Aeroflex.

Amanda Kay enjoyed her many friends and the many flowers, birds and critters that shared her home these last few years especially Eddy and Molly, commonly known as the puppies. She was often seen on her Apple tablet shopping and sending messages to her face book friends and always kept up with the latest tv shows. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her fantastic sense of humor and warm personality. Kay was really excited about becoming a grandmother for the first time with the baby being due in December, but the Lord decided that Kay would be better suited to meet and hug her grandchild before the rest of us. She left an indelible mark on all that crossed her path and will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
