Alice Lee Cook, 79, of Leawood, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021. She was born on September 14, 1942 in Norfolk, Virginia to Thomas and Vivian (Hatem) Culbreth.
Alice grew up in Plymouth, NC and attended Plymouth High School. She enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley, drinking Diet Pepsi and going to the beach. She met and married Larry Gardner and they had three children together. Alice enjoyed family holidays and spending time with her children, eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Alice is survived by her children, Chris (Janice) Gardner, Kathryn (Jim) Jordan-Hyde, Wes (Andrea) Gardner, her ex-husband and longtime friend, Larry Gardner, and her three brothers, Michael, Tommy and David. She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren, Christopher, Andrew, Haley, Ben, Connor, Kirsten, Colbie, Brody, Hadley, Ellie, Gavin, and her two great grandchildren, Ava and Annabel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Vivian Culbreth.
There will be a visitation from 6:00-8:00pm on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Penwell Gabel's Olathe Chapel, with a second visitation and a brief memorial service from 6:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, also at Penwell Gabel.
