Alfred D. Foster

March 15, 1928 — March 28, 2022

3/15/28 – 3/28/22

Rev. Alfred Daniel Foster passed away from natural causes on March 28, 2022. Al (or A.D.) was born March 15,1928 in Bloomington, IL to Fred and Eunice Foster where he grew up on the farm with brothers: Harold, Jay, and Roy, and sister Grace. He graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, IL where he met the love of his life, Joyce Burd. They were blessed with three daughters, two sons, thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

He was ordained in the Church of the Nazarene and served as a pastor and evangelist for over 30 years; Indianola IA, Fort Dodge IA, Burlington IA, and Council Bluffs IA were notable locations of service, though even into retirement, his consistent, passionate service, and love for God were obvious to everyone.

Alfred carried himself with gratitude. He was quick to smile, and his wit frequently gave others reason to smile. He loved the bible, hiking in the Colorado Rockies, and spending time with his children and grandchildren (as well as the occasional White Sox game). He will be forever in the hearts of his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Eunice, brothers Harold and Jay, and sister Ruth, his wife Joyce, daughter Trudy, and four grandchildren: Ryan Hooker, Kelsi Foster, Quincy Foster, and April Plummer.

He is survived by his daughter Nancy Hooker of Sterling KS, daughter Brenda and her husband Johan Tredoux of Lenexa KS, son Dan Foster and his wife Cindy of Overland Park KS, and son Jonathan Foster and his wife Johnna of Overland Park KS. His nine grandchildren and their spouses: Angela Chisi, Adam & Chrystal Hooker, Nathaniel & Ané Tredoux, McKenzi & Nick Burdge, Lauren & Seth Kilber, Cole Foster, Quinten & Sybree Foster, Shay & Caroline Foster, and Evan Foster. And his thirteen great grandchildren: Sara Grace, Luke, Katie, Euella, Ivy, Izabel, Sylvia, Hudson, Grayson, Henry, Forest, Aiden, and Remy. He is also survived by his sister, Grace Rutledge and brother Roy Foster and wife Martha.
