Alfred ''Al" Stahl, 76, of Olathe, passed away on October 30, 2024, at Olathe Hospice House. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a sense of humor and a smile. Despite the pain, Al came out a hero and stayed strong until the end. He was born on January 20, 1948 in Germany, and moved to the United States with his mother, Luzie Stocks, in 1953 at the age of just 5 years old. His mother met and married Clay Stocks, which Clay raised Al as his own. They soon had another child that they named Steve. Steve and Al grew up and remained very close until Steve's passing.
After graduating from Shawnee Mission North, Al served our country in the US Army for 4 years and received an honorable discharge. Al had two children, Alan and Eddie, but it wasn't until 1978 when Al met the love of his life, Patricia, while managing a small restaurant and waiting tables. They became great friends and eventually fell in love and married August 1, 1979, and they made their home in Mission, Kansas. Together they had two children, Nick and Tracie.
Alfred worked as a Postal Carrier for the US Postal service for 25 years, until the time of his retirement. The simplest pleasures brought great joy to Al. He loved a quiet evening spending time with his family. He enjoyed watching movies with his grandchildren, having a glass of wine with his wife, and creating delicious meals for his family and friends. However, Al did enjoy a good adventure, Al loved the water and enjoyed taking his family on vacation. The beach was his favorite place in the world with his beloved children and wife by his side.
Alfred is survived by his loving wife, Patricia, his children Alan, Eddie, Nick and Tracie, grandchildren Little Eddie, Aaron, Sunny, Sky, Jonah, Ryder, Hyla, Owen, Malaki, Kayden, and the newest addition, Lillie, and great-grandchild, Carson.
