Alexander "Alex" Arutyunyan, 61, of Olathe passed away on August 20, 2020 at the Olathe Hospice House.
He was born on April 29, 1959 to Armavir and Silva (Khachaturyan) Arutyunyan in Stepanakert.
On July 26, 1987 he married Svetlana "Lana" Arutyunyan. In 1997 Alex, Lana, and their two eldest children made the move from Ukraine to the United States. Two years later, in Overland Park, they welcomed their youngest daughter. Most recently, Alex and Lana lived in Olathe, Kansas.
Alex enjoyed traveling, exploring new technology, building computers, working on cars, cooking, and most importantly spending time with his family.
Alex is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Lana; Daughters Silviya and Alexandra; Son Vladimir along with his wife Julie; Granddaughter, Alice; Sisters Anahit, Susanna, and Bella.
He was preceded in death by his Mother, Father, and Brother Evrik.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 24, 2020 from 1-2PM at Penwell-Gabel Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Olathe, Kansas
.
A funeral service will be held at 2PM followed by burial at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Overland Park, Kansas.
The family would like to thank the wonderful doctors, nurses, and staff at both The University of Kansas Medical Center and the Olathe Hospice House. Your compassion, care, and support, not only for Alex, but his wife and children, will always be remembered.
