Aimee Reif

Aimee Reif passed away Thursday, June 14 from complications due to acute leukemia. Aimee was born July 21, 1954 in Kansas City to William and Mary Ungashick. She was the oldest of nine children. She attended elementary school at St. Peter's Catholic school, high school at Notre Dame de Sion and college at University of Missouri at Columbia, where she majored in English and Advertising. She married Alan Reif, of Hoisington, Kansas, on October 13, 1979. Her first child, Brian Joseph Reif, was born in 1983 and her second child Erin Marie Reif, was born in 1986.

Aimee is not only survived by a devoted husband and two loving children, but also a large extended family: Aimee's mother: Mary Ungashick Smith, and her husband Don Smith; her siblings: Joe Ungashick and his wife Jill Tupper and children Izac and Journey; Mark Ungashick and his wife Caryn Ungashick and children Claire and Matthew; Andrea Beckham and her husband John Beckham and children Rob, Alex, Luke, and Jack; Julie Crain and daughter Jacqueline; John Ungashick and his wife Stephanie Ungashick and son Bryce; Matt Ungashick and his wife Julie Ungashick and children Adam, Brett, Elizabeth, and Madison; Luke Ungashick and his wife Linda Ungashick and children Rachael, Allison, Megan, and Natalie; Elyse Essmyer and her husband Paul Essmyer and children Reid, Maggie, and Will. Aimee is also survived by the Porter family and the Smith family.

Aimee was a member of the Junior League of Kansas City and Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

Aimee was passionately devoted to her children and her husband. She cherished every moment she spent with them and will love them through eternity. She was a loyal, compassionate friend to everyone she ever met. Aimee was ever so devoted to her Catholic faith. She left the world her gifts of laughter and joy.

Visitation will be held at 9:00 AM on Saturday, June 16 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Olathe Kansas. The funeral will follow at 10:30AM at Prince of Peace and then the burial at Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa, Kansas. The family suggests contributions to the Leukemia Foundation of Greater Kansas City.
